Through planning, hard work and support from our partners we have developed a series of engaging programs that help our young citizens navigate
through the challenges in their daily lives.

A conversation over Ice Cream
The only job harder than that of President is
that of Citizen.
"Does anyone know the meaning of Civics?"
The answer?-- " The study of the rights and duties of citizenship."We want participants to understand you have rights, but with those rights go responsibilities. You have the right to vote, but with it goes the duty to vote.
The program draws a direct comparison to the expectations of being a good student within the campus community to that of being a good citizen within their respective neighborhood communities and beyond.
At the core of the activation is a mock election centered on electing the favorite ice cream flavor of the student body. The purpose of the exercise is to take the students through the political process we use in America. Along the way,
select participants are presented with the opportunity to learn about media production and get to work as the media and camera crew covering all the election news!
There is no test at the end. The test will be presented later as they reach adulthood and they better understand how to be an effective participant in their community.

Preparing Aspiring Professionals
There are different leagues for various sports like baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and more. It's about time we introduce a youth league for business that equips our young ones with essential skills for the biggest game of all – the game of life!
Our Preparing Aspiring Professionals (PAP) focuses on organizing students into small business teams. For instance, the Printers Apprentice Program takes them through various practical exercises, they are taught the ins and outs of forming, operating, and managing a screen printing business. By the end of each cycle, these teams engage in friendly competition in a live market setting, where they showcase and/or sell the products they have collectively created.
Not only do they gain valuable skills through this program, but they also earn real money as a team and reap the rewards of their hard work together.
Remember, while the main aim of PAP is not just to have fun, the ultimate goal is to cultivate success among the students. And as they embark on this journey, they come to realize that achieving success is an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience!

The Girls Summit expands the playing field by introducing young ladies to a group of leaders, rebels, risk-takers and stewards from the worlds of business, healthcare, education and more. KNK’s host and owner Karen Scruggs leads our jury of mentors and professionals as they engage in impactful conversations skill-building workshops and career-oriented demonstrations.
